Too many things going on at once. I decided to take a break for a few minutes and happened to run across the William Tell Overture. Made me stop and think. Who's doing the job now that Clayton Moore is gone? Gods know we need the Ranger now more than ever. For years Moore simply was the Lone Ranger. Reality has little to do with such things. Sherlock Holmes has a firmer base in reality than most who have lived since. I can tell you his address, what his room looked like, his personal habits, his friends' habits and the general tenor of his life. It is less so with the Ranger, but he is as real a person as many I know. I wonder who inherited the mantle? It would be a sad thing if there was nobody at all -- the death of dreams.

Re: Blatant Assumption Forthcoming:

Given the gross evidence I'd say our childhoods are at least 30 years and one entire continent apart and don't have a lot of overlapping icons, but "No, t'aint odd 'tall t' my mind."

Artists have always been into the outer reaches of the expanded consciousness.

Even Roy Rodgers, Mr. Wizard and the inimitable (Buffalo) Bob Smith have to be considered artists. When you move into the realm of genius you have to conjecture on what it was that tripped the trigger on a guy like Albert Einstein. His consciousness was so far expanded that LSD would probably have sobered him up.
