Good news

and bad of course.

The eye doctor (OK, ophthalmologist — I looked it up) said my eyes are free of any diabetes-related disease indications, no glaucoma, no retinitis, no problems. There's a little shadow that may someday be a cataract, but I've known about that for years.

The bad news is that despite having checked before I made the appointment, this doctor doesn't accept my insurance. Arrrgh! $108 for an eye exam! That's almost three weeks lunch money.

I have a new prescription for "reading" glasses. I don't know what that'll cost, but I'm not buying those without my insurance!
