Awakened by Heavenly Choir
I woke at 4:03 am convinced that I had heard a sort of angelus. It was that sound used to indicate a heavenly apparition in most movies that prolonged modulated "aaaaaaaa" that generally is accompanied by streaming light and some sort of manifestation. By the time I got out of bed, got dressed (you can't greet angelic beings in the nude, can you?) and made my way to the kitchen, that being the apparent source of the noise, I found no heavenly evidence.
There was a light on. There was less pizza than before.
My theory here is that angels raided my refrigerator for cold pizza. I must compliment my sister on her baking skills.
Events of a more earthly nature
Angelic visitation to my kitchen aside, my week has been uneventful. Upcoming events are mundane in the extreme. I've to go to the doctor Thursday to have stitches removed. I don't know if I have mentioned this previously, but I had a "mole" removed from my right cheek along the jawline. The doc said it had its own blood supply and that it was bigger beneath the skin than expected. I am on pins and needles awaiting the analysis of the biopsy. I can't imagine that it is anything more devastating but a wart, as it has resided on that spot in my face for nearly 50 years perhaps for
50 years as I do not remember a time when I did not have it.
Friday is another visit to the shrinkologist. I look forward to such with equal anticipation and dread. Question: was that usage typical? Does "ancicipation" imply good or just that you foresee the event? I know the dictionary definition includes "pleasurable expectation" but how do you use the word?
Time time time
I've been listening to Tom Waits. I think he should be named the patron saint of the depressed and disabled. Or maybe just the God of Woe? I wonder if there are any Woe gods?
